With cloud computing becoming an increasingly important IT market, many of the largest companies in the world are trying to outpace each other and expand internationally in order to tap into the full potential of a growing economy that is still on its way to reach its peak.  Although there are many local providers offering cloud computing services throughout the world, a lot of American companies including Amazon, Google and Microsoft, are trying to outdo local operations and establish their foothold on the international cloud scene.

If you are familiar with the IT world, you probably already know that Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of the fastest-growing cloud computing service providers in the world. The business is currently expanding internationally and is making bold moves in order to improve its own infrastructure and reach out to a broader pool of customers.

Quite recently, AWS launched a new region in Paris, France. This new outpost will allow the company to cater to consumers throughout the European Union with ease and flexibility. The new Paris region it’s not Amazons first in Europe, but it will greatly improve the company’s vast networks. With the implementation of the Paris region, Amazon now counts 18 regions throughout the world, making for 49 availability zones. AWS is already serving some of the most important French companies with its services, including Decathlon, Les Echoes, Society Generale and Canal+.

The new Paris region will open up three availability regions in the country, enabling local companies to embrace the full benefits of Amazon’s intuitive cloud services. Although consumers were already able to enjoy and operate AWS services through other regions deployed by Amazon through Europe, the advent of an all-French location means that local consumers (as well as other businesses in surrounding areas) will be able to enjoy a much faster service. When he comes to cloud computing, speed is essential as a way to enhance the workflow of the business and maximize the way it’s sharing information, stores data and performs a wide variety of tasks on a daily basis. In layman terms, if the data need to travel longer distances, the speed of service might be slower. On the other hand, if the servers are closer, the service speed will be faster and more efficient.

French customers have been relying on Amazon’s regions in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Now, they will be able to enjoy a much faster service. This is a particularly sensitive development that will please any company in need to operate latency sensitive workloads or host information and files that need to reside specifically on French soil, as opposed to being stored in a remote facility in another country. Although there are many competitors on the European Cloud scene, Amazon is set on their rapid growth. The Jeff Bezos company is going to great lengths in order to tap into the full potential of a growing international cloud market. Cleverly, AWS understands that investing in new infrastructure is the key to succeed in this very competitive environment and appeal to corporate clients.

This also translates into heightened security for local consumers, which will be able to rely on the same extraordinary security standards employed by Amazon throughout its networks.

2017 has been a critical year for Amazon Web Services. The company has opened many regions throughout the world, including Europe and Asia. If the trend continues, the organization is undoubtedly going to keep expanding.
